Wolfgang Bylsma is the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief for Perth-based specialty comic publishing house, Gestalt Comics. He also serves as Creative Director for the Indigiverse alongside his role as Chief Executive for Comics On Country. Wolf’s publishing endeavours have helped change the nature of the comics industry in Australia and assisted in building reputations and careers for Australian talent in the international market.
With a passion for fostering creativity, Wolf has also been a mentor for the Australian Society of Authors and the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, and served as Consulting Editor for Magabala Books. Along with his role as Executive Producer on The Deep animated series and Lustration VR series, he has been a Creative Consultant on additional TV and Film projects. His efforts in championing Australian creators and their comics was also featured in the television documentary series Comic Book Heroes which screened on ABC TV and chronicled the highs and lows of publishing comics in Australia.
A sought-after speaker, Wolf has delivered lectures at Universities in NSW, QLD, VIC and WA, and presented seminars and panel discussions at San Diego Comic-Con (USA), Asian Festival of Children’s Content (Singapore), Little Lit Festival (Philippines) as well as literary festivals, conferences and conventions around Australia.
His own writing credits include adapting the Wastelander Panda ABCTV iView series to graphic novel form, and co-writing the Cleverman comics with TV series creator, Ryan Griffen.
