Please give the warmest welcome our next VIP Guests for PCAF 2025, Stick Mob Studio!
Stick Mob Studio is a collective of storytellers from Mparntwe-Alice Springs who tell stories that reconfigure reality. They create, publish, and exhibit stories that re-imagine different times, places, and identities, challenging deficit narratives of growing up as young Arrernte person in central Australia. Their stories are vital in creating a more tolerant and imaginative society.
As Declan in his graphic novels Mixed Feelings reminds us – Alice Springs-Mparntwe is a place of many stories, many emotions. Stick Mob stories are grounded in place and community, with writing and illustrating an extension of our social justice responsibilities.
This matters now more than ever because we need to see and hear from diverse storytellers who create strong First Nations characters that people, young and old, engage with, feel seen by, and feel connected to.
Stick Mob is currently seeking support to raise funds to print their second wave of graphic novels scheduled to launch at the 2025 NT Writers’ Festival and other interstate events- including PCAF!
With support of Creative Australia’s ACF Boost Program, every dollar raised will be matched dollar-for-dollar, with the goal of raising $5,000 by mid-May to become $10,000! All donations are tax deductible!
Please support these amazing comic makers by contributing to their fundraiser at supportstickmob.com
