Campbell Whyte was born in Perth, where he makes stories about place and strives to create an inclusive and supportive comics community. His graphic novel series, Home Time won numerous international awards and was nominated for the prestigious Eisner Awards. As the co-founder of the Milktooth School of Art and Stories, he provides opportunities for young people to develop their comics skills and publish their works.

Sarah Winifred Searle moved to sunny Boorloo from spooky New England, USA in 2016. They make comics that explore themes of identity, health, and relationships across many genres. THE GREATEST THING, their YA graphic novel, is a Lammy Award and CBCA finalist, and a Prime Minister’s Literary Award winner.

Kristina is a Filipino-Australian mixed-race artist based in Perth, Australia. Her art often references Western and East-Asian culture, which reflects her interests and journey of identity. She sells her artwork under the name K.Turner Arts through various mediums online and in-person.

Soolagna (pronounced Sue-Lug-Nah) Majumdar is a Kolkata born, Boorloo raised comic artist, visual storyteller, and comic arts educator. Her work has been featured in publications like Cordite Press, Vice Magazine (RIP), and the ever delightful Tale Town. Her art explores themes of relationships, existentialism, identity, and whatever has grabbed her attention at that moment of time. Thanks to her residency at the Comic Arts Workshop and the Milktooth residency, she’s been working on her long term urban fantasy, romantic soap opera “Food Bird”.

Elizabeth is the director of Milktooth School of Art and Stories, has been a sessional lecturer in painting at Edith Cowan University and is a co-founder and creative director of the Perth Comic Arts Festival. She is working on her debut graphic novel Pup Pup is the Boss of the Stars which will be published in the US through Top Shelf Productions.

Lola, who publishes as L.G. Veldenmire, is a passionate illustrator and storyteller. In addition to creating their own comics, they educate teens on comic making and are passionate about supporting the local creator community. They are a co-creator of the Webtoon Original Solid State, a cyberpunk saga set in a 22nd century W.A.

Jess is an emerging artist from Perth who has found a home in the thriving Perth comics & illustration community. They use comics to share their personal experiences about chronic health, long-distance relationships, and the perils of working in the retail sector. When they’re not creating art, Jess is usually taking photos of birds in their backyard, or having complex feelings about robots.

Aśka, (pronounced ‘Ash-ka’), is an energetic visual storyteller, comics maker and a hugely engaging and popular presenter. She is passionate about visual literacy, and has published more than ten books and comics, some of which were shortlisted for fancy awards. She is currently working on her next, epic graphic novel.

Stuart Medley makes comics to improve employment, housing and other socially focused services. He is an associate professor of design at Edith Cowan University, and the author of numerous publications on visual communication. He is the art director for Hidden Shoal, a record label with a roster of international artists, with the BBC, Canadian Broadcasting, and Showtime as clients. He is a co-founder, and was first Chair of the Perth Comic Arts Festival.

David Chamberlain keeps the IT and technology side of PCAF running. He also does this for other small organisations through his company IT House. Besides wrangling computers David enjoys playing and making card games and tinkering with old electronics.

JB Harris, known as Harri, is a graphic designer and illustrator by day and a comic maker by night. They are passionate about using their creative skills in service of a good cause. After residing in Japan for three years they were drawn back to Perth by the amazing creative community and never want to leave. They are currently working on a short passion project comic to debut at PCAF.

Steven Martellotta is a comic creator and visual storyteller, passionate about media literacy and the comic creation process. He is currently working on Bored in Bannery Bay, a story inspired by growing up in Albany about finding magic hidden in the mundane. He also creates the weekly webcomic Jeff the Whale.
