Kristina is a digital illustrator and comic artist who spends just as much time drawing her favourite k-pop idols than she does talking about them. She enjoys making fun lil zines about food, bubble tea and being chronically online. Her experimentation with comic form has led her to working on a cookbook comic featuring recipes from her Filipino heritage.
My time at PCAF
I found out about PCAF in 2019 when I was studying at Edith Cowan University and in my final semester, I was in a class run by Bruce Mutard, one of the PCAF OG’s. He wanted us to volunteer on the festival day, so I signed up and had the best time. He then extended an invitation to me to attend the AGM that year where I ended up becoming the volunteer coordinator. After helping manage the volunteers for a couple of years, I was asked to step in as treasurer as well. In 2023, I tabled at PCAF for the first time, selling my first batch of comics. As of 2025, I am the treasurer of the festival.
About Me
Making art is my main passion in life, and it comes in many forms. I love drawing and painting traditionally on non-traditional materials, usually based on the media I consume. As a huge k-pop fan, I create art influenced by my favourite idols, fashion styles and concepts. I have to balance my art with my day job as a support worker, and I find both of my jobs fulfilling in different ways. A major part of my art journey is tied to my identity, as someone who is mixed-race Australian-Filipino. I have started making artistic connections with my Filipino side in recent years and more of that will show up in future comics.
